Founder of Hurricane Headdress

Wearable Art Sculptor

Megan Maberry is a Galveston-born artist best known for her bold, sculptural headdresses that blend fantasy, fashion, and storytelling. As the founder of Hurricane Headdress, she creates one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces that celebrate individuality and joy, drawing inspiration from vaudeville, vintage glam, drag, and the vibrant spirit of the Gulf Coast.

After a decade as a high school art educator, Megan stepped into her full-time art career with a mission: to help people feel seen, celebrated, and fully themselves. Her pieces have been worn at Mardi Gras balls, rooftop concerts, Pride events, and museum galas—places where creative energy thrives and bold expression is welcomed.

At Kindred Gallery, Megan continues her mission by offering immersive headpiece workshops and showcasing her ever-evolving collections. Each piece begins with a spark of imagination and ends in unforgettable moments of self-expression, celebration, and connection.
