Georgia Stathakos Deatherage is a second generation Galvestonian with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from University of Texas. When Georgia is resting her paint brushes, textiles and beads, she runs her own practice Floating World Therapeutic Massage on Tiki Island as well as a specialized care practitioner for traumatic brain injury clients.

Georgia lives in Galveston with her husband Todd along with her multiple furry and feathered friends.

Georgia is a multi-faceted artist creating bold, expressionistic figurative paintings, collector of natural objects, creator of textiles and owner of eclectic jewelry business Wabi-Sabi Moon. Her work exhibits an appreciation and fascination with archetypal subjects and the beauty of the human body.

In all the decades of creating art her most beloved inspiration comes from mythology, ancient history and artifacts, journaling and deconstructing her imaginative dream work into a painted story and textile objects.
