Oil Painting

Julie Sanderson is an artist splitting her time between Friendswood and Montgomery, Texas. She graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Marketing and a Minor in Art. She has worked at many large advertising agencies in Texas.  After leaving advertising, Julie became an Interior Decorator.  However, the draw to become an artist has always been there, and she is now able to pursue a career in art.  Julie works primarily in oils with a loose realistic vision.

“ I love painting outdoors—it is amazing to watch how the light shifts throughout the day and changes everything around me. Being out in nature inspires me, whether it’s capturing the wind moving through the trees or the way sunlight bounces off a building. When I paint, I am really just trying to share the feeling I have in that moment. Whether it is a plein painting or a studio piece, I apply that experience to my art.”
