Sarah Saenz, founder of Mid the Pines Photography, discovered her love for photography at just 8 years old when she received her first 35mm camera. A dedicated middle school teacher, Sarah has always nurtured the creativity of her students by starting a photography club at school.
Her connection to music, which she originally explored as a music teacher, has always been a driving force in her work. Having once been in a band herself, she was inspired to turn her lens toward musicians after noticing the lack of quality photos of live performances during her time on stage.
Her true passion lies in live photography, where the energy, emotion, and movement of musicians come to life through her camera. For Sarah, capturing the vibrancy of a performance is what brings her the most fulfillment, as she believes in the power of photography to immortalize moments in ways words cannot.
In addition to her work as a teacher and a photographer, Sarah serves as the official photographer for the Krewe of Misfits and Proletariat Gallery, where she continues to capture the unique energy and spirit of these vibrant communities. Sarah’s art has been showcased at the Proletariat, Marmo, and the Galveston Art League.
